Khadija is an Attorney-at-Law and currently serves as a Co-Director of WOMANTRA, a youth-led non-profit organization dedicated to feminist activism and scholarship and improving the lives of women and girls in the Caribbean region. Khadija is also the founder and mentor of a program for young women, ages 14 – 17, from the village of Matura. Its goal is to offer these young women information on a range of topics including academic and career planning, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and life skills. This program exposes these young women to opportunities and experiences that are not often afforded to youth, particularly young women, in underdeveloped areas.

Khadija previously served as a youth volunteer with ASPIRE (Advocates for Safe Parenthood Improving Reproductive Equity), a non-profit which advocates for improved sexual and reproductive rights for women and girls in Trinidad and Tobago. Khadija served as Project Assistant for ASPIRE’s annual Health and Family Life Education Quiz 2011. This quiz was designed to improve SRHR awareness amongst young people from communities across Trinidad and Tobago. As the Project Assistant, she worked closely with several youth organizations and youth leaders to coordinate and facilitate participation.

In 2008, Khadija was the recipient of a National Scholarship and pursued her legal studies at the University of the West Indies and the Hugh Wooding Law School. She was admitted to practice as an Attorney-at-Law to the Supreme Court of Judicature of Trinidad and Tobago in 2013.
