Bio
Andreea Pancu is a human rights activist from Romania. She is currently working full time, while also volunteering for Accept Romania. Andreea remains vocal & spreads awareness towards equal rights and environmental sustainability.
What ignited your pursuit for gender equality?
Having witnessed cases of gender-based violence play out in my day to day life, I felt the need to be a part of the active people who want to change that. And as soon as I realised that I couldn't conform to certain societal norms, I decided to be unapologetically me and fight for injustices along the way.
Please share your biggest wins as an advocate for gender equality.
Having organised a fundraiser, Feminist Controversies, and a webinar, Open Your Mind: Diversity's Nuances, for Girl Up Romania about reproductive rights, gender-based violence, revenge porn and safe spaces for women in Romania.
Outside of your gender equality advocacy work, what do you enjoy doing?
For a while now I've been quite fond of crochet, and now it holds a special place in my heart. I also enjoy reading, writing, and all kinds of arts and crafts projects really. The funkier, the better. Oh, and I'm definitely a plant parent.
