Bio
Anastacia Sunnelal was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago. She is currently attending Northeastern College. Anastacia is a US Youth Ambassador and co-founder of R.I.S.E. Youth Organization. She also serves as a tutor online and at summer camp, as well as teaching children at Sunday school.
What ignited your pursuit for gender equality?
I grew up in a society where there are a lot of gender biases, and it has affected me. There were a lot of job opportunities that turned me down due to these biases. As I grow older, I hope to make a change in my society.
Please share your biggest wins as an advocate for gender equality.
My biggest win as an advocate for gender equality is being selected to be apart of the Girls Youth Parliament Cohorts 2020, which is fighting for equal rights in our country.
Outside of your gender equality advocacy work, what do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy going to the beach and relaxing. I enjoy nature activities such as camping, hiking, and doing other outdoor activities. I also enjoy reading and watching movies. Lastly, I enjoy shopping.
