Summary of the Position:

The Graphic Designer works as part of the Communications Team and implements a wide range of projects including digital graphics, institutional publications, email templates, donor materials, event-based graphics, campaign, and conference print materials. This new position reports to the Senior Associate, Graphic Designer, Communications.

Accountabilities:

  • Design and produce organizational publications and print materials including reports, brochures, invitations, fact sheets, policy briefs, infographics, and other Women Deliver collateral
  • Design multi-media materials including interactive content, animated content, and videos working in partnership with other members of the Communications Team
  • Support the Digital Associate in designing and strategizing for social media
  • Design web-based collateral for website and email
  • Support in the design of Women Deliver print and online campaigns and event materials
  • Assist in the Women Deliver 2019 Conference brand development and execution of conference materials, including but not limited to: banners, signage, stages, merchandise, pocket program, flyers, interactive walls, digital screens, website, and mobile app elements
  • Manage image library – organize photography and iconography
  • Manage physical signage inventory and renting system
  • Support brand guidelines, create templates, and train staff in the proper use of branding elements
  • Support in managing relationships with outside vendors, including other graphic designers, illustrators, photographers, videographers, and video editors
  • Partner with printers and procure bids, manage printing processes, and attend press checks

Qualifications, Skills, Education, and Knowledge:

  • BA/BS required in Graphic Design, Media, Communications, or a related field
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience both in print and web projects; strong preference for experience working with nonprofits and/or campaign environment
  • Ability conceptualizing, designing, and implementing wide range of design projects – print, digital, and motion (including event, conference, and campaign focused)
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects, Premier
  • Experience designing for social media a strong plus
  • Knowledge of HTML a strong plus
  • UI/UX design experience a strong plus
  • Knowledge of the design production process, including pre-press and printing process
  • Technical expertise in creating templates
  • Expertise in and passion for gender equality, maternal, sexual and reproductive health and rights issues, with an emphasis on girls and women a plus
  • Strong organization and project management skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and work independently while meeting tight deadlines
  • Ability to apply strategic and creative thinking, while being persistent, motivated, proactive, energetic, and detail-oriented
  • Strong design sensibility
  • Must be able eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
