As part of Uganda’s Family Planning Budget Advocacy Group (FPBAG), Edmond Martin Wanzala (Class of 2013) and his organization Allied Youth Initiative Uganda succeeded in doubling the national budget allocation for reproductive health commodities from UGX 8 billion to UGX 16 billion for the Financial Year 2017/2018. Following this, they plan to engage with the local appropriations committee to establish how the new allocations will be split amongst the commodities, as well how young people will benefit from the increase.
