Through his Women Deliver seed grant project — made possible by Johnson & Johnsno, Isaac Ejakhegbe met with local community leaders and a Nigerian cabinet of chiefs to discuss how to fill the gaps left by the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act (VAPP) of Nigeria and ensure universal coverage and enforcement. Isaac’s project focused on expanding awareness of the VAPP in Nigerian communities. This visit, with 25 community chiefs, was the first advocacy effort aimed to address this landmark legislation’s implementation.
