Charity Giyava Offers Input on Mental Health Interventions for Adolescents in Zimbabwe
Charity Giyava (Class of 2018) participated in the Helping Adolescents Thrive consultative meeting to discuss and develop a mental health intervention package for adolescents. She attended the meeting as a youth representative and delivered a 2-minute speech about the mental health needs of young people in Zimbabwe and the barriers they face in trying to access services. She also participated in the technical group, which reviewed community-based interventions and possible pathways of implementation. Her focus was mainly on how mental health interfaces with SRH and HIV for young people.
