Through the “Building momentum for increased access to safe abortion in Kakamega County” seed grant project, made possible by Johnson & Johnson, Caren Odanga conducted a 5-day peer education training with 50 young girls between the ages of 15-22. Through this training, these young people covered topics such as sexual rights, STI prevention, preventing unplanned pregnancies, safe abortion options, family planning options, unsafe abortion practices, effects of unsafe abortion, communication and advocacy skills, and challeging stigma and restrictive laws on abortion.
