Bisharo Ali Hussein (Class of 2018) wrote an article on adolescent health rights and wellbeing of Somali women based on an assessment conducted with girls, women, parents, and shop attendants, among others. The article also advocated that girls in schools should receive free sanitary cloths to ensure they are not forced to miss classes during their menstrual cycles or drop out of school. Two university students interested in research on reproductive health of girls and women in Somalia expressed interest in working with Bisharo Ali and conduct research to share findings with the government to take action on reproductive health.
