Barbara Da Silva Paes Increases Access to Data on Femicide in Brazil

Although legislation criminalizing femicide was signed by Brazil’s former president Dilma Rousseff in 2015, there remains limited information regarding measuring violence against women and consequently taking appropriate action to prevent femicide. Barbara Da Silva Paes (Class of 2018) published an article titled, “Open Data about Femicide in Brazil” in which he spotlights ARTICLE 19 Brazil, an organization that facilitates information-sharing (such as data on femicide) to better equip the country to tackle violence against women.
