SPEAK: Speaker Program for Empowerment, Advocacy and Knowledge

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The SPEAK project will have a speaker series involving key populations of women in Australia, including women affected by gender-based violence, young women, women with disabilities, as well as queer/transgender women. The outcome of the project is to have enough information to write a position paper based on data collected and advocate to the government for an increase in access to female controlled/friendly barrier methods in pharmacies, chemists and supermarkets throughout Australia.

ABOUT LARZ

Larz Gerrand has more than eight years of experience working with young people and facilitating programs and projects. Larz currently works at the CREATE Foundation as a Community Facilitator. Larz also works as a Local Leader volunteer for Youth Empowerment Against HIV/AIDS (YEAH) and was a member of Melbourne Youth Force: Youth Pavilion Working Group for the International AIDS Conference 2014. Larz is currently completing a Bachelor of Public Health and Health Promotion at Deakin University.
