Mashiyat Rahman is passionate about increasing women’s and girls’ access to adequate menstrual hygiene and reproductive health rights.
Mashiyat is originally from Bangladesh. At BRAC University, she is currently studying Economics and Anthropology. As Chief Executive Officer at Resurgence Bangladesh, she is responsible for managing sanitary napkin production, decision-making, and planning and tracking advocacy efforts in menstrual and reproductive health. Through her work, she won the “Inspiring Female Startup” award from Women in Leadership and Bangladesh Brand Forum. As an advocate, Mashiyat has won awards for ensuring adequate menstrual hygiene management methods for over 2500 women, and trained teams in furthering advocacy efforts in women’s rights.
To Mashiyat, “meaningful youth engagement” means youth coming together to create collective social impact that lasts generations past their own.
In her free time, Mashiyat enjoys traveling, discovering new cuisines, volunteering, playing football, photography, and teaching.
