Breaking the Silence: Mobilizing Students for Action on SRHR

 

ABOUT THE PROJECT

This project seeks to improve services and increasing access of students to the Youth Friendly Centre of the University of Port Harcourt. Boris will work to build the capacity of 5,000 students of the institution on Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) and contraceptives choice through digital media, social media campaigns, and targeted communications efforts like op-eds and public debate sessions. The ultimate goal is to ensure that at least 25 percent of the entire student population of 40,000 will benefit from the youth center.

Born at a time of civil upheaval in Southern Nigeria, Boris is passionate about protecting the health rights and welfare of women and girls after hearing stories from his mother, including of her near escape for harm when heavily pregnant. He actively volunteers with local and international organizations and is vocal in youth activities in Nigeria. Boris is a medical student at the University of Port Harcourt in Nigeria. At his University, he works to improve the educational experience of his peers through organizing activities. Boris is passionate about protecting the environment and ensuring the health, civil liberty, and welfare of African youth. He works hard to ensure that people’s stories are told so that they may inspire change.
